Customer Project: 600hp Street Supra

Okay so since i interrupted Toyota week I'll end this week with a Toyota, with some classic US street racer style, we currently have in our shop a lovely Orange Supra, which is under going a serious make over.

Not only is this car going from an N/A to a turbo engine but it's also getting a shot of 600hp! So initially we are going to basically replace all of the N/A supra bits with everything out of a RZ model, Then a Black Label Big Single kit will be getting bolted on to the side and a after market ECU controlling the whole she bang, with a fully forged heart to handle boost. and aftermarket intake and exhaust manifolds.

This supra should pack a hell of a punch with the turbo selection designed around response and power, and if we still need a bit more go a shot of NO2 will be getting pumped into the mix. So watch out for this hard tuned 2JZ Street Racer coming to a highway near you.

RUN & WON

Well what a cracking day at track, with most competitors only managing one dry run, the day went from race day to drift trails at the drop of a hat.

With the weather playing games all day a few people managed to better themselves but most were out for a good time and got that, with loads of opposite lock. Jason Hart was a standout still managing awesome times even with the dodgy weather.

Very exciting news here at Ultimates, as we are now official distributors for FEDERAL TYRES. We can now offer our clients a one stop performance shop, offering all performance work, wheels and now tyres.

FEDERAL have a great range of fuel efficient road tyres, but with a large range of semi slick tyres available which have proven reliability, and grip at reasonable prices we are sure to have a lot more personal bests tumble at the track with these fitted!

Our tyre of choice is the 595 RS-R as it is comfortable on the street and sticks at the track, along with a aggressive semi slick tread pattern, make it the best all round performance tyre we have come across.

Customer Project: VOYOTA

Yep, this would have to be one of the coolest conversions for a street sleeper we've seen in a while.

It's a good old 244 Volvo wagon (of all things) running the motor and transmission of a Toyota 1JZ. These engines are renown for their power making ability and reliability, backed by a bullet proof auto, this is one VOYOTA you don't want to mess with.

So next time you pull up next to a silver Volvo wagen, your ask gonna ask yourself, "do i really want to get chopped by a bloody Volvo driver?"

Well as you might have guessed this week will be dedicated to ever bullet proof Toyota brand. We will start off with Princess the RA28 Celica. More of a cruzer then a bruzer, it still manages to get a lot of attention where ever it goes, those at the Classic Celica day will attest to.

Video Friday Presents *W-R-X-T-C*

Welcome to video Friday, and today we have the all conquering YLD20T strapped down to the rollers from last weekends, WRX Dyno Fest. unfortunately we don't see the power figure at the end but this car, can constantly throw down 260-270awkw's. What is good is just listening to this animal as the boost comes on.

So tell everyone to get out of the room, turn the volume up, sit back and prepare for the mechanical onslaught that is a boosted boxer engine!

ULTIMATE 7...keeping the streets on fire!

Say hello to our Ultimate 7, this car has been apart of our workshop since we imported it back in 2006, it started life as a mild modded example which after a retune to suit aussie fuel made 221awkw's, which hasn't bad, but nowhere near enough.

It now boasts a complete built motor featuring a stroked block which takes it out to a 2.3 litre, a set of choice cams, aftermarket plenum, custom exhaust manifold and a raft of other trick bits and pieces. the little evo now spins the rollers to 276awkw's with a conservative tune. After trying lots of different turbo combinations (outright power vs response) we are still yet to settle on a happy medium to suit the duties of this particular car, but stay tuned as we will get there.

Full TEIN coilovers mean that driving down to get some milk feels like a lap of Bathurst, but comes into it's own out on the track. The car is used as a daily but it's natural habitat is the track and hard driving.

Ultimates @ Wakefield Round 2

Next Wednesday (the 22nd of July) is the day that Ultimates and our clients will be taking over Wakefield Park in Goulburn for the second time this year, and it's bound to be a craker!

Subi Dyno Day Coverage

Well i don't think that anyone was expecting that turn out! with over 40 cars rocking up to the event to either watch or participate, the Subaru Dyno Day was a great success as all who were in attendance would attest to.

The out right kilowatt king on the day was a force fed VE HSV R8 spinning the rollers to the tune of 299rwkw's, but right on his tail was our very own Ultimate 7 Evo VII with 276awkw followed closely by the king of Subaru's on the day YLD20T a blue Subaru wagon with 268awkw's.

It was great to see so many modified cars show up to the event, with a BBQ sizzling, fuel in the air and just the shear mechanical harmonies pumping out of the dyno cell, it made for a great day.

Ultimate Tunes would like to thank all of those who participated in the day ,and the team for making it run seamlessly.

SUBARU Dyno Day Tomorrow @ Ultimates

An all Subi power shoot out is on at Ultimate Tunes in Phillip this Saturday, With a strong field of competitors looking to take out the Kilowatt King category, it's bound to be a great event.
